How is my baby 10!

Wow I got a Smile!
Blowing out Candles!

Ummm Good! Talking to Grandma and licking the batter at the same time!

Today is the day 10 years ago about lunch time I went to the hospital and they sent me home said "I wasn't in Labor!" It sure felt like labor! Then a few hours later about 15 minutes after pulling up to the hospital out came our Quinlan! We were so anxious for him to come here. We knew he was a boy and we were so excited! We had a scare during my pregnancy and thought he might not make it here! That is why we picked his name it means the Hearth of the Home, The Warmth! Quinn (or Quinnie, or Quinnie the Pooh, which I am not allowed to call him anymore!) has added more warmth and love to our home then we could of ever imagined! He is a valiant young man, I know he is truly part of the "Army of Heleman" and that his character is strong. He loves his friends and his family and I am so very blessed to call him my son! We love you Quinnie, Happy Birthday!

Wow I can't believe it's over!

My nephew Ed, Sister In Law Deki, Erin, Kat, Sophia, Jeff and Me
Kathleen Opening her Quilt!

The Calm before the Storm!
Quinn, Bridget and Jeff in their Christmas Jammies...

I think this happens every Christmas! We spend weeks getting ready for it and then it is gone! I think that is why I always get a little sad that it passes so fast. We had a really nice Christmas eve and Christmas day though! We went out to dinner on Christmas eve after Jeff got off from work, we looked at some lights on the way home and then went home to open some presents (Well jammies!). Our Friend Diana went with us and we had a fun time! We were up too late though and almost missed Santa! But he must have come late because when Quinn woke up at six int he morning there were presents under the tree! We had a nice morning with our traditional cinnamon rolls and bacon and OJ. We then got ready to go to Erin's for Christmas with family (Aunt Kathleen and her family, Uncle Bob and Aunt Deki, Cousin Ed, and Aunt Erin and some of her husbands family!) The highlight for me was opening presents (well at least when Kat and Erin opened their presents from me! I made quilts for them from old dresses that my mom wore. I didn't expect them to cry or me to cry like we did but it was a sweet moment and we knew mom and dad were with us!) We brought Stacey home with us and picked up Casey on the way home. We then opened more presents and were off to bed! (It was way after midnight!) On Friday I spent the morning getting new decorations and lights for next year at the sales! Then when I came home we all went to see "Bedtime Stories" with Adam Sandler it was a great movie we all just loved it! (Especially Jeff). We then came home and fixed a big dinner for everyone and our Sister Missionaries, Casey and Stacey, and our Friend Diana joined us, it was fun to cook a holiday dinner since I only made part of it the day before. Afterwards we took in the lights at Candy Cane lane. I think we will spend the rest of the weekend playing video games and eating leftover goodies! Hope everyone else had wonderful memories!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to All! We are so excited to have the Holidays once again. It is such a special time with family and friends. It is time when we remember the ones who have gone before us too! I miss my mom so much at this time of year. I can relate and wish I was more thankful to all of the long hours she put in, wrapping presents, baking and cooking. I now know why her Christmas cards were always late! We will be spending time with my sisters and older brother and the kids are all excited about that! Our family has grown a lot this year. Kathleen's family has more then doubled, she has three new girls and one new boy! Oh yea and a great new guy too! Bobbie, Tracy and Julie all had little boys this year too. On Thanksgiving we found out that Brian and Didi would be adding to the Weaver Cousin's next year. (Bridget is hoping for a girl after all of the boys this year!) We have a busy week as our little one turns 10 on Sunday, I always remind him that his birthday is at such a special time of the year. I can't believe he is double digits! He still has a splint on from his arm he broke his wrist on December 12Th (He convinced Bridge that he needed to sleep in her bed because his was too small and he would bump his cast! So Jeff snapped the picture above. I am so glad that they are such good friends, as a matter of fact she was the first one on his birthday party list!) We saw the Tales of Desperaux for his birthday with 10 friends it was a lot of fun and the movie was great! Bridget is becoming quite the baker and gift wrapper, and I know she is my daughter because at 11 Santa is still as real as ever! Jeff has been busy at work (grocery store/Christmas!) He is glad that finals are done and he has a few weeks off from school. Kelly has a four day weekend and we are looking forward to playing video games and enjoying each others company! Merry Christmas to one and all!

My Mom's Sour Cream Sugar Cookies

I thought I had lost a recipe that my mom always made, we never had the traditional sugar cookies always these big soft yummy sugar cookies and I have missed them, so Kelly and I mixed the dough tonight! I says to cool for an hour but I always remember they work better overnight. And Decorate like regular sugar cookies!

1 c. shortening2 c. sugar1/2 pt. sour cream2 eggs2 egg yolks1 tsp. vanilla1 tsp. salt1 tsp. baking soda2 tsp. baking powder2 tsp. nutmeg6 c. flour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Cream together the following: shortening, sugar, sour cream, eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl, sift together: flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder and nutmeg. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Mix well. Cover, chill 1 hour. Divide dough in half. Roll each portion on a lightly floured surface to approximately 1/8 inch thickness. Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutter. Bake for 10 minutes.

Thanksgiving and Family Visit to Utah

Cousins Are Lots of Fun!

This is why Ethan is the Crack Up! I wish I couldhave got his Kung fu Panda Moves too!

Thanksgiving and a Road Trip!

On thanksgiving we spent a great day with my sister Erin and her family. It was a really quiet day since our sister Kathleen left town to go to Southern California to meet her almost new mom in law! But it was a lot of fun, we played games and Erin's little boy Jacob had us cracking up during Apples to Apples! Erin made a great dinner and one of the best turkeys ever! On Black Friday Jeff and I were up at about 2 am (yes three hours of sleep!) We got some Blu Ray players which was really cool! and some other things! (I finished niece and nephew shopping!) And started on Bridget and Quinnie's things. Jeff of coarse wants green stuff but we have a good surprise waiting for him! I am trying to download pictures to share too! On Black Friday we went to bed early (not enough sleep and we got up early Saturday to head out to Utah! We took the train again this time with Kelly. It was really a relaxing day. We sat in the lounge car at a table and played games and had lunch. We went back and took a nap at our seats and enjoyed the scenery over the Mountains and had dinner later in the Diner Car, which the kids love because they get Individual Ice Creams at the end. We then headed back to our seats for some shut eye til we got to Salt Lake. Kelly's parents met us and we were off to Tooele. We Got up Sunday and enjoyed a family day. Almost all of Kelly's brothers and sisters were there (only Julie couldn't get away from Arizona). It was so much fun for Bridget and Quinn to play with all of their cousins, Becca, Dallas, Courtney, Madison, Blake, Kaytlin, Michael, Ethan (the crack up!), Hailey, Landyn, Kahri, and Caleb were all there. Bridget loved having Caleb and Landyn around since they just arrived this fall and she loves babies. Quinn loved having his little cousins Michael and Ethan and Hailey follow him around and playing with his cool cousin Kaytlin (she is a girl who likes bugs what more can I say!). The best part of the evening was finding out that Brian and Didi will be adding to the Weaver Bunch in late May! We are so excited for them! On Monday Kelly and his Brother Cary and his little girl Kahri went with Bridget and Quinn to the Discovery Museum and had a good afternoon, then Mom and Dad and I met them along with Jake and Tracy and Caleb at the Salt Lake Temple to see the Beautiful temple lights. Tuesday was when the fun began because Quinn was sick ALL DAY! But he is getting better and we got on the train late Tuesday night and had a relaxing ride home on Wednesday just in time for me to head out to Ward Council Meeting! And come home to Bridget getting sick, needless to say we took one more day off and have relaxed at home today! Hope all of you had a good holiday and aren't to busy getting ready for Christmas that you forget the Reason For The Season! I hoping my tree looks like this soon! It has lights and everything else is up!
