Family Ties
WE THE FIRST PRESIDENCY and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.
...
THE FIRST COMMANDMENT that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God's commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.
WE DECLARE the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God's eternal plan.
...
HUSBAND AND WIFE have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. "Children are an heritage of the Lord" (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens where ever they live. Husbands and wifes-mothers and fathers-will be held accountable before God and for the discharge of these obligations.
About eight and a half years ago I became a member of the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." I gained a testimony of the church and of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his love for me, the above lines are from The Family a Proclamation to the World. They are things I held a belief on even before I saw them in writing. I know one day I will be accountable for how I raised my children when they were young. I love everyone in my family, extended family too.I know we do not all have the same beliefs about this issue, I do not want to alienate anyone in my family and I respect their beliefs. But I would also hope that they would allow me the same, that is to believe and fight for what I see as right. I don't see this as a equal rights amendment, I see it as something that I need to do for my family. I see what is happening and parents have less rights when it comes to the rearing of their children, what they are taught in schools, and religious freedoms are on the attack (which goes against everything our forefathers fought for during the revolutionary war). Thanks for listening to my ramblings!
Republican Or Democrat! Do you really have to ask?
Your Vote Score: 92% Republican, 8% Democrat |
You fit well with the Republican party, and you should almost definitely vote Republican this election. In fact, you're so strongly Republican, a political career (or at least some activism )may be in your future. |

My Quiz Results for "Twilight"
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!
My Quiz Results:
"You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great
importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be
sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and
appreciate the kind way you always handle things. "
Okay I too like a friend have not read the books but I have heard over and over about them, so I took the quiz weird because it is really an accurate discription! Anyway can't wait for the movie because I don't know when I will get to read the books!

"Mary Poppins"
Ever since our Princess was born she has been such a wonderful blessing.
She slept all night in the hospital. She loved to just sit in her swing and listen to her little voice. She loved to be held by her daddy, yes she is daddy's girl! She came home from the hospital on May 28th 1997 riding in the Ford truck between Kelly and I with his hand holding on to her little fingers! (I think he has been wrapped in those fingers ever since!) She was only 19 months old when Quinlan was born and she was so sweet to him...even as he grew and loved to pull her hair. The only thing I can remember her doing when she was little that was "naughty" or out of the ordinary was she climbed out of her crib at a very young age. She had a tough start to school but has made the honor roll every semester and never, ever gets in trouble. Her third grade teacher said she was "Mary Poppins" practically perfect in every way. The song "In My Daughters Eyes' has always reminded me of her, she sees good in every person she meets. babies and small children flock to her, one of her friends little sisters love spending time with her instead of their own sister! On a recent trip on the train a little 2 year old boy fell in love with her and sat with her on the train from Winnemucca to Reno and played games, watched "Thomas" and shared cookies. Sisters in my ward often ask "When can she babysit?" If Bridget ever did anything a little bit wrong all it needed was a look and she corrected it. She is not totally perfect though! She is called Pokey! She is slow at getting ready which does drive her mom a little or lot crazy (depending on if I will be late for work!) But I think she is entering puberty, ugh...I can't take it she is supposed to be the good kid! Yesterday she got to me more then ever before, pouting, whining, annoying her brother, being a little rude! All of those attributes are supposed to be saved for Jeff and Quinnie! NOT BRIDGET!
But alas I think the time is coming, she is a pre-teen almost a dreaded "Teenager"...if this is what that is going to be like "Oh Know". I want my "Butterfly Kisses" back. Will I make it through this age? Will her father? Will her brothers? And will she live to tell about it? Only time will tell! I guess if this all I have to worry about with her and she is still the great student, the good friend, the wonderful babysitter, and truly loving daughter of God I can Survive and she will too!
