Fall Family Fun: Tales from the Weavers!

Okay the last few weeks have been filled with lots of activities! Two weekends ago we spent time at Fenton's YUM YUM... and then went to the Nut Tree for some rides and then Bridget and Quinn had a giant game of outdoor chess! Above is a Picture of Bridget's strategy! And one of Quinn planning his next move! We then had a crazy week at school, we are reaching the end of the first trimester and it is time for report cards!
This last weekend we had our fall festival and it was a fun evening. Kathleen and Reggie and their kids all came and so did Nadja and Diana. The kids played games, went through the maze and went trunk or treating! They have lots of candy although Bridget isn't happy with her
braces right about now! I am just happy it is over since I am the activities chairperson!
I hope Reggie is feeling better since Kelly talked him into the pie eating contest!
Saturday afternoon before the festival, Bridget and I went with Hannah and Patricia
to see High School Musical 3! It was good I do not know if it is my favorite yet! But the
music was good and Bridget loved it, although no boys better be bringing a picnic
to my daughters bedroom while she is in High School!
While we were getting ready for the fall festival we spent some times at the produce stand getting pumpkins and climbing the corn maze on Friday afternoon.
Today we are off to a harvest festival with the PEP kids from school and
then we are off to Pack Meeting! Thank goodness we go off track for three weeks next week
maybe things will slow down! Yeah Right!

Family Ties

A PROCLAMATION TO THE WORLD

WE THE FIRST PRESIDENCY and the Council of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, solemnly proclaim that marriage between a man and a woman is ordained of God and that the family is central to the Creator's plan for the eternal destiny of His children.

...
THE FIRST COMMANDMENT that God gave to Adam and Eve pertained to their potential for parenthood as husband and wife. We declare that God's commandment for His children to multiply and replenish the earth remains in force. We further declare that God has commanded that the sacred powers of procreation are to be employed only between man and woman, lawfully wedded as husband and wife.

WE DECLARE the means by which mortal life is created to be divinely appointed. We affirm the sanctity of life and of its importance in God's eternal plan.

...
HUSBAND AND WIFE have a solemn responsibility to love and care for each other and for their children. "Children are an heritage of the Lord" (Psalms 127:3). Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness, to provide for their physical and spiritual needs, to teach them to love and serve one another, to observe the commandments of God and to be law-abiding citizens where ever they live. Husbands and wifes-mothers and fathers-will be held accountable before God and for the discharge of these obligations.

About eight and a half years ago I became a member of the "Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints." I gained a testimony of the church and of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his love for me, the above lines are from The Family a Proclamation to the World. They are things I held a belief on even before I saw them in writing. I know one day I will be accountable for how I raised my children when they were young. I love everyone in my family, extended family too.I know we do not all have the same beliefs about this issue, I do not want to alienate anyone in my family and I respect their beliefs. But I would also hope that they would allow me the same, that is to believe and fight for what I see as right. I don't see this as a equal rights amendment, I see it as something that I need to do for my family. I see what is happening and parents have less rights when it comes to the rearing of their children, what they are taught in schools, and religious freedoms are on the attack (which goes against everything our forefathers fought for during the revolutionary war). Thanks for listening to my ramblings!

View From The Temple!

Today I went to the Oakland temple. I had not been in a while and it was a perfect fall day. The view from the Temple was absolutely wonderful!
Clear sky's and warm weather.
A few Christmas' before mom passed away Kelly and the kids and I
took her to see the Christmas lights at the Temple and she also
saw a fabulous view of her city. Probably one of the last times she visited the bay area. While it is a crazy place to be in it sure is beautiful from a
distance. I am so glad I did this today, it was one of those things that
we sometimes need to do just for ourselves!

My Quiz Results for "Twilight"

I'm a Esme! I found out through TwilightersAnonymous.com. Which Twilight Female Are You? Take the quiz and find out!
Take the Quiz and Share Your Results!

My Quiz Results:
"You are thoughtful and care very deeply for your family. A loving home is of great
importance to you and you always try to make people feel welcome. Although you have a great capacity to love, you also have a great capacity to hurt, so at times you can be
sensitive. You're firm when you need to be, but people trust your judgment and
appreciate the kind way you always handle things. "

Okay I too like a friend have not read the books but I have heard over and over about them, so I took the quiz weird because it is really an accurate discription! Anyway can't wait for the movie because I don't know when I will get to read the books!

October is Here and We Are Off to a Busy Start!

Wow cannot believe it is October! This has been a busy week, it didn't feel much like October at the start of the week when we had 90 plus degree weather but that has led Bridget and Quinn to an unexpected week of swimming fun! On Wednesday Bridget had braces put on! She is very excited about them and in case you cannot tell the rubber bands are orange and black for Halloween! We also had Hispanic Heritage night at school and Quinn's favorite week began the Book Fair! He did get a couple of new books, and has already read one of them! We have had a great weekend it is the weekend of our church's general conference so we were happy to hear words from our church leaders this weekend. We also spent a day at Apple Hill with my sister and her family, my brother Bob and his wife, and my friend Diana and her daughter, it was a rainy fall day and the weather was not good but the kids didn't mind and everything smelled so fresh and clean from the rain! We all went out to dinner and had a great time! Below is a slide show of our day...
Lastly on a sad note on our way to Apple Hill yesterday I received a call from a friend in Elk Grove letting me know that my friends husband had passed, Brother Sundberg or Santa as he was known to my kids (He became Santa every year with full beard and all!) I babysat his beautiful granddaughters when we lived in Elk Grove and was able to become friends with him and his wife, they used to live in Fairfield too! I know he is with his mom and Beautiful daughter Jenny who passed away two years ago. We will miss him but like Christmas and Santa! He too will live in our hearts.

"Mary Poppins"

Bridget at Disneyland July 2008
Bridget at the Grand Canyon in March of 2008
Bridget on a Snow Outing with her cousins in Spring 2008

Ever since our Princess was born she has been such a wonderful blessing.

She slept all night in the hospital. She loved to just sit in her swing and listen to her little voice. She loved to be held by her daddy, yes she is daddy's girl! She came home from the hospital on May 28th 1997 riding in the Ford truck between Kelly and I with his hand holding on to her little fingers! (I think he has been wrapped in those fingers ever since!) She was only 19 months old when Quinlan was born and she was so sweet to him...even as he grew and loved to pull her hair. The only thing I can remember her doing when she was little that was "naughty" or out of the ordinary was she climbed out of her crib at a very young age. She had a tough start to school but has made the honor roll every semester and never, ever gets in trouble. Her third grade teacher said she was "Mary Poppins" practically perfect in every way. The song "In My Daughters Eyes' has always reminded me of her, she sees good in every person she meets. babies and small children flock to her, one of her friends little sisters love spending time with her instead of their own sister! On a recent trip on the train a little 2 year old boy fell in love with her and sat with her on the train from Winnemucca to Reno and played games, watched "Thomas" and shared cookies. Sisters in my ward often ask "When can she babysit?" If Bridget ever did anything a little bit wrong all it needed was a look and she corrected it. She is not totally perfect though! She is called Pokey! She is slow at getting ready which does drive her mom a little or lot crazy (depending on if I will be late for work!) But I think she is entering puberty, ugh...I can't take it she is supposed to be the good kid! Yesterday she got to me more then ever before, pouting, whining, annoying her brother, being a little rude! All of those attributes are supposed to be saved for Jeff and Quinnie! NOT BRIDGET!
But alas I think the time is coming, she is a pre-teen almost a dreaded "Teenager"...if this is what that is going to be like "Oh Know". I want my "Butterfly Kisses" back. Will I make it through this age? Will her father? Will her brothers? And will she live to tell about it? Only time will tell! I guess if this all I have to worry about with her and she is still the great student, the good friend, the wonderful babysitter, and truly loving daughter of God I can Survive and she will too!
